A small unexpected break allowed a quick peek tonight. I was tempted to hit my two targets in Vulpecula tonight, but opted for NGC 6791 in Lyra and NGC 6819 in Cygnus instead.

This was actually hard to find. When I got to the spot I almost instinctively biased toward the brightest stars in the FoV and I had to double check my placement a few times.
I think the center of the cluster is probably near the bottom left of the brighter stars in the sketch. I could detect a patch of “noise” present with AV allowing a few dimmer stars to pop out. But I don’t think I was able to fully represent it’s full size.
Overall, this was very hard to see. And it seemed like the longer I viewed, the harder it was to see. I finally put my glasses on and looked up to notice that thin clouds began to move in overhead and I had to give up on NGC 6819 tonight.
I’m suspecting that many of the open clusters left on my list will be crossing over into difficult territory. I’m thinking to add a new challenge to my list so I can work on both easy and hard targets, maybe the [[
