While waiting for the last of the clouds to disperse, I attempted 38 Lyncis again. This time at a half-stop. The airy disc of the primary was much reduced and after a lot of micro-focusing I was able to get a better split than last night. The secondary would still “pop” in and out of view. But I feel more confident about the split tonight than I did last night.

Very faint, but seen when other stars are out of the FOV. The elongation of the oval pops with AV.

AV required. Seems to have a brighter core than M98, less elongated.
