The keyboard has a USB port

The paint on the connector plate has dried and is now installed.

I screwed on the USB Type B connector. It seems fitting to use a chunky USB port on a chunky, retro inspired keyboard. Serial would be even more fitting, but there are practical reasons to not do that.

The paint at the bottom of the recess had some high spots that prevented the plate from seating all the way down. I used a piece of leather on the bottom of my router¹ to prevent scratches to the paint, and took off the high spots.

I drilled some pilot holes and screwed it on.
