ATA 79 - OIL
- The pump delivery pressure is not controlled, but the oil output flow is, by design, always in excess of the lubrication requirements.
- If the main filter becomes clogged, a bypass valve opens and the oil flows through the backup filter.
- The air mixed with the scavenge oil is separated in the tank by a de-aerator and is vented to the forward sump through the transfer gearbox and radial drive shaft.
- Low Engine Oil Pressure Switch → EIU → FWCs (It sends the signal if P < 13 PSI) (MASTER WARNING)
- Anti-syphon device prevents oil to return to the oil sumps as soon as engines are turned-off.
- Engine oil refilling: We must wait at least 5 minutes after engines shut-down.
- Engine oil tanks are located at 8 o’clock on the LH side of the engine.
- DPI for ENG Oil is right on the top of ENG OIL TANK RESERVOIR.
