Weekly links 8
I took a different approach this week, collecting these links as I went, rather than browsing through my history to pick things out. I enjoyed doing it.
This is a wonderful, enthusiastic talk about living with curiosity and appreciation.
Here's the link to where I heard about that talk. It gives some more background on the convention and its end - XOXO is finished.
I haven't explored Neocities much, but this was a featured page this week and it is fun. It shows the eclectic interests of the creator (the Pacific Rim tribute was unexpected, after the cutesy horror landing page) and the design is fun.
I was thinking about dice probability this week, and this is a good reference. I'm torn between the Ironsworn approach (which is very satisfying, but can give a lot of misses) and trying something with only one die size for my next solo game.
A blog post about a very cool project, designing RPGs to play in prisons. I read through some of their wuxia game and it has great atmosphere and advice for the players and GM (referred to as the Key Narrator, which is a good term). Also has scene by scene soundtrack suggestions, which is a nice touch.
This film looks odd. I haven't watched it yet, but I think I should.
