The Word for World

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit this small exhibition at the London Architecture Association. It features a number of original drawings and maps by Ursula le Guin most of which were part of her process of creating the worlds she wrote about in her books.

A number of the maps (of islands, worlds and the Tombs of Atuan) were printed in the style of blueprints on blue banners that were hung around the space to create the sense of a forest, echoing the themes of the novel the gives the exhibition its title.

I was really glad I made the effort to get out in quite rainy weather and see it.
