Re: Ads? What ads?

This isn't so much a proper reply as it is just me pointing out what a lost cause I think internet advertising is.

They don't seek to show interesting content, they just want to show as many ads as possible, writing a few sentences so that the user actually thinks the content is interesting to keep the users hooked for a few seconds, and earn tons of money this way. Some websites on smaller screens may even break the 80% estimate introduced by Sorrento.

This is an older screenshot taken from my wife's phone during an attempt at reading an article.

I measured the amount of actual readable content. It's not even 15% of the screen. We are well past the point of inducing a seizure.

I will block ads for the rest of my life, even if the situation improves from here, purely out of spite.
