It has been created on the 13/05/2025 out of curiosity.

Currently this server runs with a custom Gemini server codenamed "Salyut" on an ESP32 C6 DevKit! Based on the incredible ESP8266 Gemini Server project by Astrrra!

Thanks to the ESP-32 C6 integrated hardware acceleration for crypto operations, I can achieve 500ms of TLS handshake with ECDSA certs at 80Mhz CPU freq. Pretty neat!

The ultimate end goal will be to have this run on solar energy and maybe even 5G with an IoT static IP for extra resillience.

This project takes its name from the first space station in history, the Soviet-made Salyut 1. It symbolized hope and peace, as well as a significant achievement for humanity.
