Music brings me joy
Created: 2025-01-31, never modified since
This post is about my feelings for music.
I just love music. Every piece of music that has ever been written actually. I don't like jail myself up into just one genre. I can always respect a few aspects of every type of genre.
The songs I want to write about today are the few songs in particular that make me feel nothing but *euphoria*. All of them are EDM. But they are very varingly different and have no other apparent genre-relation between each other.
Let's begin.
- Avicii: I love every single song he produced, a melodic genius. Rest well, Tim.
- TheFatRat: This guy knows how to express emotion in his melodies. Respect. I love every single track from him.
- Chime: There are just a handful of songs I get the feels for but they hit hard.
- Phaera: Euphoric melodies every time, how can you not love him?
Do you see the pattern? It's the melodies.
Some songs to check out on YouTube:
Something very peculiar happens when I listen to these songs. My arms get flung up towards the roof. My head starts nodding to the beat and my eyes close. I begin my ascent to the realm of heavens. My hands experience epilepsy like forces that very robotically moves my arm in the highest accuracy in accordance with the beat, shape, melody, and drops of the song. Even the best osu! player would not stand to compete for my accuracy. The whole event could look like I'm conducting a whole orchestra.
I have a whole playlist of these songs I call "holy melodies".
That was all, I kinda just wanted to share this, idk why. You can click off now if you don't want to read the rants.
here comes two hot takes
I did mention how I like all types of genres. There is however one genre that I can't stand. Pop. I define music as pop when it doesn't have anything that makes it stand out. I cannot respect those songs at all. It's just garbage as nothing creative has ever gone into the composision of those songs.
My defenition is not what most people think of what pop is, but I see signifigant overlap between them. I don't want to use the word low effort content because some are high-quality producion, but the artist just have no idea what music is and what they like.
Also hot take: If you can't express your emotion in a song when the lyrics is turned off, you are an objectively bad artist. Your just a poet who writes meaningless stuff about some stupid love or whatever. The best music doesn't have lyrics.
a small list of songs by small artists that brings me euphoria
My last Spotify wrapped said I listened to about 400 unique artists last year. And that was only the first like 10 months because I stopped using Spotify after switching to Apple Music, that I'm currently using.
Also, if you realised that basically all music is copyright free, then good job, nicely observed! Now may I ask, why is that? You answer now.
