In search of a gemlog
After my initial post on a bulletin board some helpful commenters suggested that I would do well to get myself a gemlog. After some searching it appears to be a blog on Gemini. The difficult part is finding where to get one and how to get it up and running.
I have also registered on flounder.online but I am yet to have an account that has been activated. This is to be expected as the people behind these sites are real and live lives. I am happy to wait for approval to gain access to this new corner of Gemini.
I’ve created an account on mygemini.space which is inspired by gemlog.blue. I was not able to create an account at the source of this inspiration as they are no longer accepting new accounts as a result of continuous spam. That is a shame.
mygemini.space profile does indeed allow me to name a gemlog and create a post. The post is a random link and there is no way of knowing who wrote it and there is no homepage to catalogue all of the posts made on that gemlog. I’ve thus created another post which I will use as an index of future posts.
I think that I will have this link at the bottom of my post in lieu of a “back to home” button.
I need to look into how folks are inserting emojis into their texts. I promise not to abuse them but I would like to use the little house icon before the home link caption. It would be nifty.
