Purple Yarrow (publ. 2025-07-28)
Yesterday (2025-07-27) by the church parking lot, my wife and I found some purple-colored yarrow. By "purple", it is what I usually refer to as "dark pink", but maybe should be called magenta. My wife called it "mauve", which is a color name I was not familiar with. Wikipedia states that
Mauve contains more gray and more blue than a pale tint of magenta. Many pale wildflowers called "blue" are more accurately classified as mauve. Mauve is also sometimes described as pale violet.
On the same embankment, some of the yarrow bunches were a lighter color — in-between purple and white — and some were pure white.
