At the end of the day, a divided house cannot stand. This division dehumanizes others who are not like us (yes, the Left is just as guilty of this as the Right!) and leads to a justification of violence toward others

The left makes fun of Trump voters on TV.

The right wants to…

…well, here’s Wikipedia’s explanation:
As part of his 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump has stated that if elected, he will sign an executive order instructing every federal agency to cease the promotion of sex or gender transition at any age as well as ask Congress to pass a bill stating that the United States will only recognize two genders as determined at birth, and has promised to crackdown on gender-affirming care for all ages. Additionally, Trump stated that he would make hospitals and health care providers that provide transitional hormones or surgery no longer qualify for federal funding, including Medicare and Medicaid funding. Trump has also stated he will push to prohibit hormonal and surgical intervention for minors in all 50 states.

But it’s not only our trans friends who are in danger.

All life on this planet is in danger:
Trump is running on a climate change denial platform. Trump has repeatedly referred to his energy policy under the mantra “drill, baby, drill,” or “drill, drill, drill,” and has promised to increase oil drilling on public lands and offer tax breaks to oil, gas, and coal producers. Trump has stated his goal for the U.S. to have the lowest cost of electricity and energy of any country in the world.

Neither of those are from Agenda 2025. They’re from Trump’s own campaign.

Back to our smol.pub pundit:

Liberals look at Project 2025 as though it is Trump’s sinister plan to turn America into the Republic of Gilead, to recruit and unleash armed racists on immigrants and BIPOC folks, force public school children to recite the Bible and salute the Donald Trump portrait, and to pollute the planet to a point of no return while billionaires get even richer at the expense of everyone else.

Pretty much.

Conservatives look at the Democrats and think that Biden will ban their faith and shut down their churches, confiscate their children to be forcibly brainwashed, “transed,” and castrated, ban their cars and grills, rip babies out of their mother’s wombs at 8 months, throw them in jail for misgendering because they failed to call their co-worker a “xe/xem,” and censor their speech.

Free speech for me but not for thee as per ushe from the party of bookburning. Fun that you put bodily autonomy, both the trans issue and Roe v Wade, on the republican nightmare side. The GOP is the party of big intrusive government, the party of force.

Abortion: actual prison time.

It’s pretty clear who’s throwing who in jail.

Judith Butler explains the trans issue better than I ever could.
Try to develop empathy by putting yourself in the shoes of those who you disagree with.

A good idea. Instead of persecuting them or destroying the planet they’re living on.

And instead of killing them.

It’s not two hockey teams where both teams are treating each other badly.

When progressives and liberals criticize republicans, it’s because they support republican policies.

Republicans aren’t just going after liberals and progressives, they’re going after kids, bipoc, immigrants, queers, and women.

These two things are not the same.
