Rinse directly after use, or wipe down with cloth, or lick clean (lol)
Batch wash and scrub for multiple dishes in to same set water use
Use separate clean water to rinse off soap

Knives

Wash directly after use.

Sponge

Do not leave sponge in sink after use
Boil sponge to remove bacteria
