Basically just pick some random shit for the first half of the address and use the rest for your private range.

Some recommendations are 7 bit prefix, 1 bit hot, 40 random bits (global ID), 16 random bits (subnet ID) and 64 bits for whatever belongs to the subnet.

fec0::/10 used to be considered a dedicated "site local" address.
