Capsule Update: Agate, Cert and Quick Start Guide (♊)
by Kelson Vibber, April 4, 2021
Two capsule notes:
First, I've updated the server to Agate 3.0.1, which now handles TLS certificates itself. As a result, the site has a new TLS certificate, so if you're wondering why it's changed, now you know.
Second, I've updated my guide to setting up Gemini on a server without root access. The main changes are:
- Updating the certificate section since manual openssl commands aren't needed anymore, but you do need to make sure Agate always loads the certs from the same directory, and you do need to tell it to use ecdsa if you want Android clients like Ariane and Deedum to be able to connect.
- Using Cron to launch the startup script when the server reboots. (Thanks, FiXato, for the idea!)
