Catherine Lucille Moore (January 24, 1911 – April 4, 1987) was an American science fiction and fantasy writer, who first came to prominence in the 1930s writing as C. L. Moore.

I do this thing on archive.org that probably not a lot of people do there, randomly pick and browse through the imaged pages of an old magazine. In reality perhaps you all do-do this but not in sufficient number, with sufficient frequency so as to have me realize you do it. I wouldn't know. So on the assumption that you aren't given to flipping through random old mystery magazines at archive.org and are therefore unlikely to have run across this particular nugget, today I found a story by C.L. Moore in an Alfred Hitchcocks Mystery Magazine from 1956 that I'm just now reading. It's called "here lies..." and looks to be worth reading. I don't recall running across it at Gutenberg, there is almost nothing there written by this pioneering author:
