everything is about selling and buying. Its not about the things that are buying or selling, it is about the commerce, the buying and selling is the thing being pursued. Nominally, you want that new car because of the amenities and the aesthetics of the thing. But when you get it, what has been enabled? You can go to your job so you can buy more shit. You have to buy shit to keep the new car going; consumables like fuel and lubrication and wiper fluid and coolant and tires and brakes etc etc etc. You will have to buy the labor to ensure the maintenance of the thing. You purchase the car so you can continue paying for the car, which you only needed to make recourse to because you have a job that you have to drive to (assuming you live in a place like the US, with aspirations of being the proverbial "3rd world shithole" before the close of the current century, where the public transit is a joke and even the automobile infrastructure is perpetually 5 years away from being completely unusable).
Now, you obviously do have to make meaningful purchases, wherer the things being acquired are essential to your wellbeinbg; food, shelter etc etc. But of course we have turned this into an object of commerce; you buy the ugly mcmansion that looks like every other mcmansion when a more modestly sized and previously built domicile would have sufficed. That McMansion is within a suburban community that is layed out like every other suburban community in the universe (the guy that owned all the property had aspirations of retiring to wherever the fuck milquetoast chuds retire to these days and that nice slice of land that his forefathers purchased for peanuts ca 1900s is going to pay for it. So he calls up whatever turnkey engineering shitheads are the first result on google and they dig out the one design they have, which is housed inside the owner's rectum for safe keeping) and they slide out this cracked and smooth turd of a development and come and bulldoze the ~100 years worth of growth that had been re-establishing the natural environment (which was previously the sight of a toxic 19th century industrial operation making lead lolipops or whatever stupid fuckfaces in the 19th century were jamming up their rectum (since modular suburban hellholes hadn't been invented yet)). And now you come along with your dumb fat wife and your 2.5 fat kids and you establish your nest.
While you are doing that, you are sure to purchase the most over-priced, over-processed bullshit food to keep you, your mate and your spawn overfed. You will wash it down with flavorless American Lager rice beers unless you are truly insufferable, in which case you will wash it down with some kinda yuppie bullshit IPA for Oregon or wherever the fuck yuppies lay their eggs at these days. You call it "craft beer" but the company that bought out the original owners is only slightly smaller than AB InBev.
This has gotten off track but I don't care because fuck you and fuck everything you stand for and everything that represents your lifestyle. You can suck my balls in hell.
