I feel like I should be keeping a digital scrapbook of news headlines. Every day, sometimes every hour, some new shocking thing.

So far nobody in our circle seems to care outside of spouse and myself. Our friend came over to paint minis and he wasn't even aware of the issues with spouse's agency. I'd sent him a link and updates. But he didn't even glance at the headline? They're in a related line of work and you'd think it would be a big fucking deal? You'd think he would have heard something about it from one of his coworkers? Nope.

We moved our gaming chat to signal and spouse bought a shotgun. "Hey, if you were thinking about stocking up a little and buying a gun, this is a good time." I sent updates that nobody replied back to. Like???? I thought we were friends? I thought you'd care we are going through this massive horrible thing and it's going to snowball down to everyone else very very soon? We've talked about prepping for catastrophe and now something real and huge and impactful is on our doorstep and you're ignoring it to talk about the plastic cosplay accessories you bought? That's the priority?

Literally no one has asked if we're okay. This must be a bit what it's like to get cancer or something. Nobody wants to talk about it out of fear/laziness that it means change for them.

I'm starting to wonder if the billionaires think of us little people like more versatile versions of herd animals, rather than human. We consume products, and we are useful for building things (that can be owned by the owning class). Maintaining our environment is more tricky than cows, but ultimately, we can be acclimated to poorer and poorer conditions. And they're in the process of moving us into an industrial farming model where we'll get put in cages and count ourselves lucky to see the sun. And everyone is standing around in the nice field chewing their cud and ignoring the signs. Why would they take away our pasture? they say. We've always had the pasture. They have to give us the pasture, or else what will we eat, dummy? Oh sure, they fenced off YOUR pasture but that's no big deal. Has to be temporary. It's nothing.

We're going to end up just like the migrant worker underclass in the United Arab Emirates, except with tiktok feeds and mtn dew.

I should keep a scrapbook of all these headlines. When these dumb motherfuckers suddenly realize what deep shit we're in, I can show them everything we've lost already that I WAS SCREAMING ABOUT FROM THE BEGINNING. NICE OF YOU TO JOIN ME FINALLY, JACKASSES.

And I'm late to the party myself! People have been screaming for decades!

I will say something positive - I don't think it is terrible to shake up our stagnant government. Are we in need of a revolution to update things? Arguably, yes. The way Musk is coming in out of left field without regard for calcified build up of bureaucracy does have the potential to yield something better. Like a wildfire in a forest. Our govt has done a miserable job of keeping up with advancements and that won't improve without a system shock. However, Musk is an untrustworthy deranged narc sociopath nazi who clearly cares nothing for people who aren't techbros like him, and that's the giant fly in the ointment. He is the worst person for this. There are ways to do this without ripping people's careers away in the span of a week. And I have no faith that they will preserve any compassion in the system for the elderly, the sick, the disabled and disadvantaged. What good are we as a country if we don't take care of our vulnerable? Are they expecting the churches to pick up the slack? Good luck with that.

We've had enshittification of corporate spaces for so long, and now we're getting the rubber stamped expedited enshittification of the government. It's going to be paywalls, privacy violations, maximum profits, and no customer service to be found from here on out, just like the corporate world. Because as long as 95% of us aren't complaining, they can ignore the 5% with problems that are unprofitable to fix. Forget about going after crimes (unless an example needs to be made). Forget about going after corruption. We will be at the mercy of a system that nakedly serves the big profit makers.

What a fucking mess. I'm so disgusted. How do you threaten Canada and not get that you're the baddie now? You are def the baddie.

I vacillate between hope that us Americans will deliver on our self scripted mythology and rise up to defeat our common threat like in Independence Day, and despair that it is already months too late.

Well anyway, I need to get busy putting art on some garbage and obsessing over the astrology of the next month. Lunar eclipse (blood moon) on March 14, right before potential govt shutdown? Bangarang.

The eclipse will be exactly conjunct one septile points at 23deg pisces, opposing my natal venus at 23deg virgo. Fun and cool.
