Apple and Microsoft Cannot Stop GNU/Linux

How to replace Windows with GNU/Linux?
We're now just 3 weeks away from the end of the year and we're gratified to see headlines - as recently as an hour ago - saying that GNU/Linux may be at 11% on desktops/laptops (depending on what one measures or how) and that we have grossly under-measured the number of users.
Here, in this site, this year was a record year and we interpret that as "more people interested in GNU/Linux" or more people "searching for" (one might say looking for) information.
It's difficult to guess (with certainty) trends where there are so many independent factors, but in recent weeks Apple has been in a state of turmoil, with mass layoffs, soaring debt, many executive departures, and even a CEO being pushed out years before retirement age. This means that Apple's ability to compete with GNU/Linux won't improve. Now there are speculations about impending mass layoffs at Microsoft. Windows sales have fallen off a cliff. █
