The Sick Bird

Over the past week or so there has been this pigeon that wants to stay near our door and isn't flying with the rest of the flock. It wants seeds all the time and it's not afraid of us at all, it's even walking towards us. Her - or its - "coat" (feather) does not look healthy and it seems she's unable to produce enough oil to cope with winter dampness. We hope she can survive the cold season. She always stays last.

If you live in a cold place, don't forget to feed birds. It's a critical time for them. Sharing is caring. Refusal to share is known as hoarding. █
