Linuxiac ☛ RPM 4.20 Released, Introduces Declarative Build Systems

RPM, the powerful package management system widely used in the Linux ecosystem, has released its latest version, 4.20.

For those unfamiliar, it is responsible for packaging, installing, and managing software in many Linux distributions, primarily being used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and its derivatives such as Alma, Rocky, and Oracle, and, of course, in Fedora and CentOS Stream.

LWN ☛ RPM 4.20 released

Version 4.20 of the RPM Package Manager (RPM) has been released. Major changes in this release include a new plugin to prevent filesystem and network access by scriptlets, the BuildSystem directive for declaring the build system to be used by packaged software, and more. LWN covered the development of RPM 4.20 in September.
