Our Firm Commitment to the Courageous Whistleblowers of the European Patent Office (EPO)

Whistleblowers at the EPO are good people, not 'traitors'. There are lots of them. There's no "single person" behind what we publish, there are 'conscientious objectors' everywhere in that institution (not just examiners, also administrators).

This isn't a "vocal minority" scenario (how Benoît Battistelli tried to twist things). Surveys prove this!

Whistleblowers will continue to flourish at the EPO as long as there's consciousness and there are still some smart people (left) in there. And this is exactly what free and democratic societies need.

At great personal expense (time and money) I've fought for whistleblowers for many years and I have thankfully managed to protect all of them. It wasn't always easy. As far as I'm aware, none got caught. If someone did get caught (not that I am aware), it would not be due to sloppiness on my part. Keeping the site free of fear and free of censorship is of utmost importance to us.

Later today we'll publish some more material about the António Campinos "Mafia", seeing that not a single publisher in Europe is willing to write about it, even if some publishers speak to me over the telephone and openly acknowledge there is indeed a severe crisis and a problem. They tell me that SLAPP in Europe is preying on their minds, more so in relation to the EUIPO (EU institution and origin of what EPO staff calls "Mafia") and the EPO.

Commitments which are verbal are easy, but after so many years writing about the EPO I hope that our commitment to sources is demonstrable by action/s. Some people use IRC, but we recognise that many people never heard of IRC and don't know how to use it.

The more the public knows about the EPO, the more likely the EU (or national governments') officials are to impose a meaningful reform, seeing how and where EPO corruption manifests itself. █
