What's Running on the Laptops

A day ago "bubi" reached 400 days of uptime and my main laptop is at over 468 days already.

A year ago my wife and I participated in the 'Default Applications' 'chain' (bloggers online sharing a list of what they're using).

12 months have passed and this is the up-to-date list:

📨 Mail Client: Mozilla Thunderbird 📮 Mail Server: CentOS/Exim 📝 Notes: Kate ✅ To-Do: Also Kate 🟦 Photo Management: Gwenview 📆 Calendar: Kate and Plasma 📁 Cloud File Storage: None, as clown computing is a sham and a trap 📖 RSS: R.R.R.R.R.R. and feedlist, developed for Techrights' curation and reading 🙍🏻‍♂️ Contacts: Thunderbird and Kate (or text files) 🌐 Browser: Falkon and Firefox ESR 💬 Chat: Mumble, utalk, Thunderbird, and IRC (ergo, xchat, konversation, and quassel) 🔖 Bookmarks: Falkon and sometimes Firefox 📑 Read It Later: No need, Kate is fine 📜 Word Processing: LibreOffice Writer 📈 Spreadsheets: Only LibreOffice Calc, sometimes text files in text editors 📊 Presentations: Hardly doing them anymore 🛒 Shopping Lists: Pen and paper 🍴 Meal Planning: Verbal 💰 Budgeting and Personal Finance: LibreOffice Calc 📰 News: Mostly Kate 🎵 Music: Invidious (https://invidious.nerdvpn.de is quite reliable these days) 🎙️ Podcasts: Browser 🔐 Password Management: KWallet and secured text files, Palm PDA (still working in 2025)
