Consensus Inside IBM That the Leadership is Gutting What's Left of the Company
Posted by Roy Schestowitz on Sep 25, 2024
Looking at discussions about IBM layoffs (and comments) this past week, things are rather grim and there are claims that many more layoffs are on the way as the management squeezes what's left of the company before it's entirely destroyed. Even the press coverage is generally unflattering; laying off thousands of workers in secret makes IBM look really bad.
This more or less makes sense from a corporate perspective. Considering the debt and the lack of direction, it's hard to see how IBM can recover. All it's doing right now is, whatever it takes to lift the stock, even if it means bankrupting the company in the long run. █
