THIS old video/clip (now with subtitles) explains the rationale for media run through leaks and whistleblowers, not spin and agenda. Julian Assange explains that the "vast majority" of the media is "awful" and "nearly every war ... [in the part 15 years] ... a result of media lies."

Good reporting can promote peace and justice, e.g. through accountability.

He says "media could have stopped it" as "populations don't like wars" and "populations need to be fooled into wars".

Many years have passed since then and online media is rapidly collapsing - to the point where media lawyers and journalists haven't much work left. If the media gets eliminated completely, there will still be public desire for facts, it's only a matter of, who's going to provide it? █
