3 Weeks Till Our 17th Anniversary
HTTPS image: Winter Seasons

THE month of November is fast approaching (our anniversary). Wintertime is here already and so are various diseases, including malicious thugs that try to cause more problems than a literal virus.

A month ago, a day after my wedding anniversary (just 4 hours afterwards) our old server was shut off without notice, explanation, or even notification. It was shut off based on a lie, a falsehood, and an hour later both my wife and I discovered that we had contracted COVID-19. First time, so it's not easy. Nice, isn't it?

Anyway, we and the site have since then recovered, unlike the country's health system. Many people I speak to struggle not just financially; yesterday my best friend told me he had fallen ill for 6 weeks and had to take antibiotics to eventually recover.

Deaths with "COVID-19 on the death certificate" in the UK now stand at 230,737 (with ~300 more deaths per week or 1,200 per month). 4+ years have passed and COVID-19 still kills many people across my country. News sites, however, got too 'tired' to mention excess deaths, so I write about these almost every week, including today*.

Keep safe out there. The world is in a bad shape. █

_________* As per this morning's weekly data release by ONS, excess deaths in the UK carry on. 9.2k deaths for this week were registered in years prior to COVID-19 and now it's about 10k (about 10% increase). Public health crisis? No word in the media.
