Setting up a Packet Network

Since we already discussed [setting up a packet station], We can discuss how my current station fits in with the local packet landscape.

Currently, there is only one station in earshot of me. I am set up on:

• Station KB8QPT-4 as the node
• The station is located at EN80uu
• Frequency is 145.03

There is another station in the area (WB9ERJ) but my connection to that station is very flakey. I think this is mostly due to my geographical location, as I can't hit anyting west of me with any certainty.

I am now working to get another node an running. Maybe two nodes. The guys in the local club are also talking about setting up a node at the club meeting room, right in the middle of town. If this happens, it will solve lots of problems.

I will discuss my goal with this station in an upcoming post.
