nb
Browsing Anteena, came across
The 'nb' mention got me interested, and I immediately installed it. I've been looking for an easy note-taking solution, and this looks like a pretty good one!
Apparently, it is 25K lines of bash... As long as it's not Python I am in! (The only things that break on Linux are written in Python, if you haven't noticed).
All your notes are ingested into the ~/.nb directory; I quickly moved it to Documents and created an .nb symlink, (I intend to back up Documents, I think)... And while it does create files with timestamps as names, it is still not too bad because you can
- use text or any text-like format you like (markdown, org, whatever)
- use your favorite text editor to edit them
- use unix utilities to mess with files or md output
There is also a review in smolzine #39:
and of course, read it straight from the horse:
