Quick Update...though not much
Date Oct 20, 2025
I've stepped away from this and other gemlogs for a while. Real life, or meatspace, has a away of distracting you from pursuing your interests. Things get placed in the back burner and eventually get forgotten. I haven't done any writing, really --though that was never my intent. I found myself just going through the motions of waking up, get ready for work, work, go to sleep, and repeat it all again. What little interest or time I had were relegated to watching a movie, video, or who knows what else. I did, at times, popped back in to quickly skim station, bbs, and antenna. On occasion I would look over bearblog.dev, and it left me wanting to get back into this blogging stuff. I, however, felt I had nothing of value to express.
Recently, I've been tinkering with a chromebook nearing, close enough, to it's end of life support. I managed to install antix core on it. I tried linux mint, full antix, and a few other distros with some windows manager, but they never ran well enough for me. They were slow on some tasks --sometimes all tasks. So, I decided to go extremely minimal, and I'm happy with the compromise.
It's forced me to learn more command line tools, use vim a whole lot more, and dip my toes into Emacs. EMACS... I know it's more than what I need for my purposes, but I can't help myself wanting to learn more about it. I'll probably dive back into Vim later on, but for now I'm spending what little time I have on learning how to perform basic functions in Emacs.
There's not much else to report from this corner of the internet, due to time constraints and other stuff.
p.s.: I ran across a Star Trek (TNG) review, and it left me with a little food for thought in regards to today's time:
"The denial of freedom to one person is an injury to all people." - Star Trek: TNG ("The Drumhead")
