The master race

A while ago I was playing a multiplayer team-based video game. During the initial setup, when the match hadn’t quite begun yet and there was ample time for idle chatter, a teammate of mine asked:

“What is the master race?”

I don’t shock easily, so I pondered the question. Nearly immediately I thought about a race that has life-and-death situations compounded by the stresses of middle management.

“The Iditarod”, I responded.

I suppose that satisfied him, as he didn’t ask any other questions for the rest of the match.
