Pygmy Island

1950

2/5

So, an army captain is missing after going on some kind of expedition to find a secret indestructible plant material that only exists on a particular island inhabited by pygmies from… I guess New England, judging by their accents. She (“Did you say she…??”) is believed to have been attacked by some kind of witchdoctor tribe or whatever. So of course Jungle Jim has to go looking for her. It turns out the witch doctors weren’t really witch doctors, but evil Soviets or Nazis or something in disguise who are also looking for the indestructible plants. It also turns out that one of them is posing as an army officer who is trying to sabatoge their plans to try and find the captain. Of course Jim gets captured by the spy, who everyone should have known was a spy all along because he’s the only one with a silly European accent. But because the captain has made friends with the pygmies the army has them go and save Jim and retrieve all the indestructible plants they stole. And I’m sure the US Army will maintain the alliance with the pygmies because at the end they say they and the United States are “good neighbors.”

Also features: Jungle Jim fighting a rubber alligator from the previous movie, an elephant stampede from another previous movie, Jim “fighting” a man in a gorilla costume which was clearly recycled from a previous movie, and a fistfight between Jim and one of the bad guys which is far more convincing than the fight with the gorilla.

Uh… it’s not any worse than any of the rest of them. That’s pretty much all I can say.
