The Beach

You lay on a sandy beach about twenty feet from the edge of the lake. A hot sun warms your legs and arms, but your face is protected by the shade from your beach tent. Some lunch and snack items are in the cooler on the opposite side of the tent.

The rest of the family is playing in the water, or in the soggy sand next to it. Down the beach a ways, you see just a few families playing in the water, or relaxing in the sand. You hear the sound of splashing as well as a few seagulls.

The lake water glitters with the reflection from the sun, and a few paddle boats and other craft are visible. You think you can see a large white bird flying above the far opposite end of the lake, in front of forested hills.

Behind your sun tent, the beach slopes upwards and ends at some facility buildings. Next to those, some tall Spruce, Birch, and Tamarack trees block most of the sky in that direction.
