Computer Collection: Psyche
About
Psyche is a HP Compaq 6910p that I bought on a whim. It isn't in the greatest of shape, but has had a bit of TLC from me in the form of refreshing the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU.
After a 'failed' BIOS update, it displays the 'failed BIOS upgrade' message for about 5-7 seconds before continuing to boot, making it frustrating to use. It also has some other issues that make it hard to use, including its not so great battery and the fact it struggles on the modern internet, though that is no fault of its own.
I'm probably going to send it to recycling.
These are the specs it has right now.

Trivia
- I originally bought a Patriot Burst Elite 480GB 2.5" SATA SSD for Psyche. However, it seemed to fall victim to YMTC's (Yangtze Memory's) faulty flash from a recall, as it developed 'bad sectors' and used up most of its bad blocks within under a week of putting it into service.
- The Crucial BX500 installed right now is my first SSD ever, from 2018, and was intended for the HP xw4600 workstation I had before building my own PC.
- the touchpad buttons are covered in soft touch rubber and are now beginning to revert back to a liquid state. They're sticky. Ew.
