Knock, Knock

by Wes Locher

You make it home to your apartment after another long and arduous day at work. Arriving at your refrigerator you discover last night's Pad Thai and pop the take-out box into the microwave, setting the timer for two minutes. Warm noodles in hand, you plop down on the couch and set the box on the coffee table to cool down. You reach for the television remote when suddenly, there is a frantic knock at the door.

You ignore the knocking hoping it will go away.
You open the door, curious to see what the problem is.
You call out, "Who is it?"
