Apologies if you've heard this before

Sometimes I have a story to tell. If you've never heard it, maybe you'll enjoy it. But if you know me, you might have heard it before. I won't mind (or know) if you stop reading after a sentence or two.

The stories vary in length, subject matter and time. They're all true.

I read an interesting thing.

A written story is simply a record of a particular telling of that story, it doesn't comprise the story itself, nor has any special powers as a standard, or a record of the "correct version" of the story.

Now how do I feel about the truth of these stories? Hmm... they're true, even if I don't tell them exactly the same as last time!
