Throwing away an advantage 🏁
Play F1 Team Principal for a moment.
Imagine a Venn diagram here of the overlap between motor racing and ttrpg!
You have a big car advantage and the constructors' trophy has been won easily. How do you handle the rest of the year?
Maybe you should work like hell on next year's car, and let the drivers' title sort itself out. But there's a lot of room for things to go wrong.
- Your drivers could have a dip in form and start crashing into things.
- You could be so concerned about not being completely dominant that you make setup decisions that lead to your cars being disqualified from a race.
- You could make a strategy call so obviously wrong that every single other team went the opposite way, and you lose a race.
That all sounds daft, but it's happened to McLaren, and their drivers might now lose to Verstappen. It's comical.
