Archives and Mirrors
I (John Goerzen[1]) maintain a number of archives and mirrors, with a particular emphasis on material important to computing history.
Mirrors
- https://kermit.mirrors.quux.org/[2] - Authorized mirror of the Kermit[3] project
- https://nncp.mirrors.quux.org/[4] - Authorized mirror of the NNCP[5] site, served with Let's Encrypt TLS certificates
- http://gopher.quux.org:70/Archives[6] - Archives and mirrors of several Internet history sites
Archives
The Kermit archives[7] contain current and historic copies of Kermit[8] software, going back decades, for both popular and obscure platforms. They are also available on the Internet Archive at here[9]. They use the dar[10] archiving system for both efficiency and the ability to provide effificent decrementals (effectively diffs going back in time). They are also available in less efficient ZIP form, here[11].
Several Gopher[12]-related archives also exist, in addition to the above mirror:
- My mirror of all of Gopherspace in 2007[13], stored at the Internet Archive.
- The entire gopher.quux.org mirror collection from 2006[14], also from the Internet Archive. Most but not all of those are now online again.
