This isn't the first year I plan to fundamentally try the Gopher protocol (for blogging). However, every time I read the documentation, I definitely don't understand what's going on. Maybe I'm too young, but the Nex protocol looks better to me.

What do you think about Gopher? I'm interested in the opinions of people who have really used it for a long time (e.g., older users)

What documentation are you reading? I found RFC-1436 to be pretty straightforward, if a bit lacking in the error reporting, but the Gopher+ stuff to be overly complex (to the point where I don't think a single Gopher+ server exists on the Internet).

Better in what sense?
