That’s cool. I can remember when my ISP bundled (limited) usenet access.

It’s a good protocol. Would be nice to see it get some traction again.

i think nntp could become a very good not commercial social network. we didn't even need activity pub.

There's the spam issue, but it's nicer over on usenet. There are still active groups outside of just tech. Though it is slim pickings.

what i really like about usenet is that it is a protocol, and any client can be used. for instance though i enjoy using bubble, bubble is a thing on its own, not a protocol. gemini is a protocol. sill better bubble than nothing. (: perhaps gemini frontend that would authorize us in nntp and let us browse and post on usenet would be very good.
