The film tells the story of how the Earth was formed and how the Sun made life possible. It then looks at how people have related to the Sun over time. But in more recent times people have relied almost entirely on coal and oil for heat and energy. This has led to heavy air pollution, ruined landscapes, and—because of gasoline production—more and more cars on the roads, which means endless traffic jams. On top of that, coal and oil won’t last forever. One way out of this dead end is solar energy.

Sounds like the origin of Solarpunk!
However do not underestimate the environmental cost of production and transportation of solar panels, batteries, and charging circuits, the efficiency of which is nowhere near a diesel engine.
It is very hard to come up with anything that actually improves the situation. Electric cars sound great but in practice are expensive firetraps that move pollution to poor neighborhoods.
