What’s the challenge? Also does your wife hate you doing the challenge because it inconveniences her or is she doing the challenge?

Yeah, what is the challenge and why doesn’t your wife like it?

I challenged myself to downgrade some years back to see how long I could do it. I read maybe 6 months ago a gemlog where some geminauts were doing the same and it reinspired me.

my wife would hate it because it would inconvenience her. For the mandatory phone items, she would have to do it. she can't send me videos, email me things, etc.

I'll be the annoying one and remind everyone that "that sounds cool, send it to me and I'll look at it later" is a completely valid response to people sharing information with you.
