Some people are complaining that new members can't join BBS because of anti-bot protection. If that's true, it's not cool, as it simply makes it harder for them to join Geminispace..

The only barrier for joining BBS is the manual account approval. This was implemented to make it impossible to employ scripted flooding attacks. If anyone is having unexpected troubles, they are welcome to contact me via email.
I can't speak for others but I've had no trouble joining. I've found BBS, and Gemini in general, very welcoming and pleasant and am quite enjoying my stay here.
I think I've seen the talk you mention and would be open to helping the user (as to the best of my capabilities) join us here if they so desire, but truth be told, I strongly dislike their negative vibe.
@ps, have you had a look at this particular geminaut's capsule yet?
And might I add that I've joined with and am using a public exit node that gives me no end of trouble when using the hypernet. Even some of the so-called privacy-conscious services make for an unpleasant visit.
So unless something about Skyjake's conservatorship of BBS drastically changed quite recently I think the user's mistaken about the cause of his issues.
@devoid--what user and what talk?
@stack, nevermind. They've removed their posts from Station. Looks like they've accomplished what they set out to do.
@ps, can you still find the complaints you speak of?
I never had any issues joining here, alongside making an account on station as well too when I first started using Lagrange. But I'm pretty biased though since I'm pretty optimistic towards the Gemini BBS tbh.
