Super Smash Flash 2: no audio — Hi guys I can't get the #SSF2 audio working on #Debian 12; I do remember the time we used to modify ALSA conf to let #FLASH audio working on Linux... Now with #PULSE it should be even easier but I noticed that PULSE doesn't capture the output audio... If you know how to let the audio work please let me know... 🙏
Speed Dreams 2.4.0 — The latest stable release for the Speed Dreams project is now out! It is the first release since 2023, the first since I took on the lead development role in 2024 and also the first since we migrated from SourceForge and SVN to Forgejo and Git! You can get the latest release from: [https link] Speed Dreams v2.4.0 release (Forgejo)
Clone Hero on Batocera Linux — I have a toddler that has started showing interest in music. I was thinking about old games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band and how they could possibly help him develop some sense of tempo and rythm. After a quick search I found an amazing fan-made project called Clone Hero (maybe everyone knows about it and I've just been living under a rock). Turns out it works great on Linux and I managed to easily get it running on Batocera as a Port. Now it is just a matter of...
Does Eve online work on Linux without proprietary drivers?
Current projects of interest — I have just moved in to Linux recently and didnt expect so much stuff still working. I will list a few which interested me so far: - open arena (being fan of quake 3 from childhood, that was.. very pleasant discovery) - 0 a.d. (expected a civ clone, got something more interesting) - openmw (great engine rewrite which also opened doors to more cursed stuff like online mode >:) - Fightcade/GGPOZ (not fully opensource, but good projects on their own - aiming to bring...
My two favorite Linux games — Hi... I play Minetest and Mindustry on an older PC... Both are excellent while not being power hungry, so they run smoothly on my very basic machine. I first started playing Minetest proper, but now I'm more into MineClone2, mainly beause the mobs are more challenging... Having no background in playing Minecraft, I'm still discovering lots of stuff... Any other Minetest or Mindustry players on here? Cheers!
FlightGear, the free (as in freedom) flight simulator — I have been a long-time fan of the free (as in freedom) flight simulator FlightGear. I love flying the Boeing 777-200, I personally think they did a great job with it. Are there any flight simulation fans on the Geminispace?
Linux Gaming subspace — I am very excited of the future of Linux gaming so I wanted to create a subspace for it. Any specific titles you're playing? It can be non-FOSS too. I've been playing Halo master chief collection (the multiplayer works on linux now!) and Xonotic. Also I am (still) hooked to Hitman 3 Freelancer mode, that creates randomized contracts for you.
