Help with certificates — Could someone help me with a potentially dumb question here? I'm trying to be able to post from both laptop and cell interchangably. I can't seem to get certificates from my laptop (openssl certs used with amfora) to work on my phone (grapheneOS, f-droid's deedum). The files are on my phone, but deedum doesn't have an option to import them, just a set of textboxes. I've tried copy/pasting the cert information, and deedum said it wasn't a valid cert. I feel like this is...
Errata! — In recent builds of deedum, which were available from my site at tilde.team (link later), I had inadvertently introduced a bug / regression / fuckup that resulted in an error when trying to represent ANSI colors. This feature (ANSI colors) was one of the first things I added to deedum back some months ago. The fact that I didn't detect this screwup can tell you a bit about how extended ANSI colors really are, or how much I recently visit capsules that use them, at least. I could give...
Now with gopher! — A notification here on BBS about the last post on this subspace reminded me that I still hadn't told y'all about the latest changes I added to deedum. To make a long story short, the newest addition has been gopher support. It might not be the prettiest thing (I'm not sure yet how to tackle the very gophery thing of writing text with fixed width lines, for example), but it's already usable. I've uploaded an APK to my http site at tilde.team, so you can get it here if you...
New apk available — Just a quick announcement: I've uploaded a new apk with a couple of features/changes. It's supposed to be for testing, but mostly I'm uploading it in case anyone wants to use it (even if, as I always say, it's a terrible idea to trust a random apk from the internet) All the modifications to the code, as messy as they might be, are also pushed. So you could always build the apk yourself. It might be a bit of a pain in the ass, especially if, like me, this is your first time...
Some small features — Hi everyone who might be interested, after the holiday break, I've uploaded a new "work-in-progress" apk of deedum built including some of the features I've been working on. Nothing groundbreaking, but some make using Deedum a bit easier. Here's a list of "improvements" included in the last apk I uploaded to GitHub (link later): support for ansi styles in "pre" text blocks (introduced in "Test apk" release) it has now a "reload" button (I think this was introducded in "...
First "release" with color support — Hi everyone who might be interested! since a couple of weeks ago, I've been tinkering with the idea of adding ANSI color support to the Deedum Gemini client. This has been relatively easy (in hindsight, a lot of things are), due to the nature of open source software, and the availability of libraries that made it easier. My lack of knowledge made it a bit harder. You should probably not trust random apks you find on the internet. But if you want to give...
Ansi reasonably supported, WIP? — After a bit more fiddling, I finally managed to add "Ansi color" support to Deedum in a way that doesn't change the current code too much and looks reasonably ok. Also included an entry in Settings to choose the "color mode" (based quite a bit on the options in Lagrange) Also added multiline support for inputs, "full-width" for content, and a rudimentary "refresh" button (you'll see it on the screenshot, but code for that is in a different branch) since those...
Small update: WIP ANSI color codes support — After some evenings fiddling with the Deedum source code (and banging my head against the metaphorical wall that is not knowing anything about flutter/dart), finally had some success getting it to interpret "terminal color codes". Obviously, there's still a lot to be done, but the attached image shows, on the right, Deedum , and on the left an "assembleDebug" build running on my phone and rendering the same Gemini page :) Little steps :)
Anyone using Deedum? — I was wondering if anyone else is using this client (deedum). I have an old Android tablet I can't really upgrade (vendor no longer exists, no support whatsoever), and Deedum seems to be the only Gemini client I can run on it. Plus, I really like it. However, it doesn't seem to be very popular. Anyone? (also, first thing I ever write on Gemini, besides guesses for Wordo and Spellbinding :) . Hello everyone!) (editing to see if I can manage to add newlines from this...
