skyjake/lagrange Issue #745: UI completely messed up (two monitors)
2025-09-18 12:59:26 ElonSatoshi
How to reproduce:
1. Might need Linux Mint and 2 monitors to reproduce
2. Open Lagrange.
3. Go to File > Preferences and set the search engine to gemini://kennedy.gemi.dev/search
4. Close Lagrange.
5. Open Lagrange
Expectation:
Lagrange opens, not glitchy, in the primary monitor, showing all your previous tabs etc
It will behave as expected if you do not change Preferences, or immediately after deleting or trashing prefs.conf
Reality:
Lagrange opens in the secondary monitor and looks like this:
<img width="1920" height="1080" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d5607b27-ed98-4a76-ad95-89a353bd5269" />
<img width="1920" height="1080" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/2282c72d-ee5f-4754-b4c4-a46c7111ef00" />
Dragging it to the primary monitor might make it look somewhat normal, but with errors like this:
<img width="1024" height="728" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5a37446b-3850-4cc2-a855-9d4156fdef13" />
Getting rid of prefs.conf sets it back to normal, thankfully.

Is this on Wayland?
Is there a difference in the behavior of the app comparing 1.18 and 1.19 releases?

No, its on x11
Lemme figure out how to downgrade and test

I can no longer reproduce by setting a default search engine.
New steps for reproduction:
1. Open Lagrange
2. Drag Lagrange to secondary monitor
3. Maximize Lagrange

Same issue in 1.18.8 after downgrading it with Flatpak

Well, good to know it's not a recent regression at least.

Note that my other monitor is a TV monitor, so it has a higher resolution.
My TV monitor resolution is 1920x1080
